🚀 The Journey

Creator Cards officially started development in September 2024, and it quickly became clear that managing over 260 excited creators required a solid communication system. After multiple emails and follow-ups, we streamlined the process and finalized the 170+ creators who would be part of the first edition.

With so many creators involved, we built a dedicated Discord server, allowing for better community engagement, quick communication, and an efficient way to handle creator requests. We also implemented a ticketing system, so each creator had a private space to discuss their artwork and progress with our team.

🔹 Challenges & Solutions

🖌 Artist Capacity – Initially, we had just one artist, but with 170+ unique character designs, we quickly realized we needed more hands on deck. Over the next few months, we expanded to four artists, allowing us to keep up with the demand.

🎥 Creating the Presale Video – Since this project was bootstrapped, Cubeyy had to learn Adobe After Effects from scratch to create an engaging promo video for the presale launch.

🤝 Decision-Making with the Community – Instead of making assumptions about what creators wanted, we put key decisions to a vote in the Discord server. This helped shape the project based on community feedback and ensured fairness for everyone involved.

🎉 Standout Moments

✔ Seeing the first completed card was a huge milestone. Once that first card was finalized, it set the standard and within a few days, we had 25+ finished designs ready to go.

✔ The first round of creator feedback was incredible—seeing creators excited about their designs and hyping up the project was exactly the energy we needed.

🎨 The Creative Process

Each card wasn’t just a templated design—we made sure every creator worked directly with an artist to develop a character that truly represented them.

🔹 How the Cards Came to Life

🖌 Custom Character Artwork – Creators submitted reference photos, and our artists worked closely with them to develop a unique illustrated version of their persona.

🎨 Card Layout & Style – We started with three potential templates before selecting the best one that allowed space for all the elements we wanted, including art, QR codes, and custom text.

👾 Artist Selection – The first artist had already worked with me on Quokka Mousepads, and through their network, we brought in three more talented artists to complete the full roster of designs.

🔄 Key Decisions & Changes

Like any ambitious project, Creator Cards evolved over time based on feedback and new ideas.

🔹 The Holographic Card Overhaul

Originally, we planned to select 20 creators at random to receive a holographic variant of their card. However, based on creator feedback, we reworked the idea to 40 holo cards featuring groups of 3-6 creators. This way, every creator would be in at least one holo card, making the special editions more desirable to a wider audience.

🔹 Expanding the Playmat Bonus

To make the experience even better for creators, we designed a custom TCG playmat featuring all of the unique character designs as a thank-you to those involved. We extended this offer to people in the Pre Sale.

📈 The Future of Creator Cards

This first edition is just the beginning.

✔ If Creator Cards is successful, we’ll be looking at a second-year edition with even more creators, bigger branding opportunities, and extra collector goodies for those opening packs.

✔ Future limited-edition releases could include holiday-themed reprints, special crossover events, and expansions into new content niches (e.g., an all-VTuber edition).

✔ The long-term vision? A full-scale collectible brand that runs multiple campaigns per year featuring different creator communities, turning Creator Cards into a must-have collectible series for fans worldwide.
